Every early August, the Pro Loco of Gaby invites everyone to the table for its Traditional Polenta Feast, an outdoor gastronomic festival that smells of the mountains. In the green area of the pine forest at Tzendelabò, immersed in the greenery of the Lys Valley, you can enjoy a unique dish of polenta and polenta concia, accompanied by sausage, stew, and local cheese, with wine or water. A simple and convivial day that focuses on the most genuine Aosta Valley cuisine and the community spirit of the small Walser village.

A feast of Walser tradition

In Gaby, a municipality with Walser language and culture in the lower Lys Valley, in the Aosta Valley, the Traditional Polentata is one of the summer events most cherished by the community. Organized by the Pro Loco of Gaby, it takes place every year between late July and early August, bringing together residents and holidaymakers around a dish that tells the story of the mountains.

The star dish

The heart of the festival is the unique dish: polenta and polenta concia, the Aosta Valley version enriched with butter and Fontina cheese, served with sausage, stew, and cheese, with wine or water. A hearty recipe, designed for mountain days, which captures the authentic flavor of Alpine cuisine.
