The truffles of the Tolfa Mountains take center stage, featuring authentic flavors, live music, and local community spirit.
The Tolfa Truffle Festival is one of the most anticipated summer gastronomic events in the Tolfa Mountains, the hilly region overlooking the coast north of Rome. For two consecutive evenings, Piazza Vittorio Veneto โ the village's main square โ fills with tables, aromas, and music to celebrate the truffle, a prized local product harvested from the surrounding oak and cork forests.
The festival is organized by the Rione Sughera, one of Tolfa's historic districts, with the support of the Pro Loco of Tolfa and the patronage of the Municipality. As in many villages in Lazio, the districts are the beating heart of community life: volunteers manage every aspect of the event, from cooking to table service, turning the festival into a moment of collective pride and hospitality for visitors.
The food stalls open at 8 PM and offer a menu designed to highlight local truffles in every way:
For the 2026 edition, the adult menu is priced at 25 euros, while the children's menu (pasta with tomato and basil, burger and fries, water) costs 15 euros: a formula designed with families in mind.
The festival is more than just food: every evening is enlivened by live music and entertainment. In 2026, the band Rock e i suoi Fratelli took the stage on Friday, while Saturday opened with the Trio d'Autore, followed by DJ sets and a foam party late into the night โ a mix that draws all generations to the square, from food lovers to the younger crowd.
The Municipality of Tolfa, in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital (Lazio), is a medieval village perched on the Tolfa Mountains, famous for its leather craftsmanship โ the iconic "catana" bag โ its butteri (cowboys), and a packed summer calendar of district festivals. The Truffle Festival is part of this tradition: an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Roman province, with its stone alleys, panoramic views stretching to the sea, and honest cuisine tied to forest products.
Because it is a real village festival where you can enjoy truffles at affordable prices in a genuine atmosphere; because the festive square, live music, and district spirit make for a perfect summer evening; and because Tolfa, less than an hour from Rome and a stone's throw from Civitavecchia, is well worth the trip.
On Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Rione Sughera renewed the appointment with the Truffle Festival in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in the heart of Tolfa, with the support of the Pro Loco and the patronage of the Municipality. From 8 PM, the food stalls served the truffle menu โ bruschetta and cold cuts, truffle pasta or amatriciana, pork loin or truffle eggs, traditional desserts โ for 25 euros for adults and 15 euros for children. The two evenings were enlivened by live music from Rock e i suoi Fratelli and the Trio d'Autore, with a grand finale featuring a DJ set and foam party.
