About Ladispoli Live

Ladispoli Live is the summer festival program for the City of Ladispoli, located on the northern coast of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital. From July to September, Piazza Rossellini, the La Grottaccia Arena, and Marina di San Nicola host concerts, tributes to Italian music legends, cabaret, dance, theater, and cultural events. The heart of the festival is the Ladispoli Summer Fest, featuring nationally renowned artists, alongside the Music Contest, Miss Ladispoli, the Pro Loco's Etruscan Symposium, and the Comixpoli comic book fair. All events are free to attend.

A whole summer by the Lazio sea

Ladispoli Live is the umbrella program for all summer activities in the Municipality of Ladispoli, a seaside town in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio, about forty kilometers from the capital along the Via Aurelia. From early July to mid-September, the city changes its rhythm: evenings move outdoors, the waterfront and squares fill up, and every weekend brings a different event. It is a formula that has become a recognizable model for the northern Roman coast over the years, built through the collaboration of municipal offices, local associations, the Pro Loco, and local businesses.

Piazza Rossellini, the main stage

The hub of the festival is Piazza Rossellini, which transforms into an open-air arena for three months. Here, live concerts, tributes to great Italian and international singers, DJ sets, dance performances, and cabaret nights take place. The program is designed for a diverse audience: those looking for famous names will find major concerts in August, while families can enjoy comedy shows, children's entertainment, and lighter events. On event nights, Viale Italia becomes a pedestrian zone, naturally extending the evening stroll among shops, bars, and stands.

The Ladispoli Summer Fest

The highlight of the program is the Ladispoli Summer Fest, a three-day event held between late July and early August, curated by the Audere association, which brings top-tier national artists to the square. This is when the city reaches its peak attendance: thousands of people arrive from all over the coast and the Roman hinterland, with Radio Subasio as the official radio partner. As always, admission remains free, a choice the administration upholds as a defining feature of the event.

Beyond music: the La Grottaccia Arena and the local area

Next to the main square, the La Grottaccia Arena hosts the more cultural side of the program, with theater, prose, dance, and festivals that have gained prominence year after year. In Marina di San Nicola and other parts of the territory, widespread initiatives take place, including beach evenings and events organized by local associations. The Pro Loco hosts historical events dedicated to the area's Etruscan past, featuring evening storytelling and the Etruscan Symposium, which draw upon the archaeological heritage of the Bosco di Palo and the Alsium area.

Ferragosto and the end of the season

The central period of August is the most intense: on the eve of Ferragosto (August 14th), the city offers a night on the beach with music and fireworks, while on August 15th, dancing continues late into the night on the sand. The season does not end abruptly: late August and the first two weeks of September remain busy with end-of-summer parties, themed nights, the Comixpoli Comic Book Fair, and final concerts before the return to the daily routine.

Why it's worth the trip

  • Free admission to all municipal events
  • Continuous programming from July to September, not just a single weekend
  • National headliners alongside local artistic talent
  • Seaside setting: dark sand beach, waterfront, and seafood dining
  • Easily accessible from Rome by regional train

Ladispoli, also famous for the Romanesco artichoke festival that kicks off the spring, completes its offering with Ladispoli Live in the summer, confirming its status as a key destination for free entertainment on the Lazio coast.
