A celebration of autumn flavors and colors in the Borgo di Sotto
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every year in mid-October, the charming Borgo di Sotto in Ronciglione transforms into the stage for L'Ottobrata — Autumn Festival, an event organized by the Pro Loco to celebrate the most fragrant season of the year. Amidst the medieval alleys of the village, located in the province of Viterbo in the heart of the Lazio Tuscia, you can soak up an atmosphere filled with authentic flavors, music, and conviviality.
The true stars of the festival are the autumn fruits of the Cimini Mountains: roasted chestnuts, the famous hazelnuts of the Tuscia region, cheeses, cured meats, and traditional fried delicacies. The food stalls offer local specialties and seasonal dishes, accompanied by wines and beers from local producers.
Beyond the gastronomy, L'Ottobrata offers a rich entertainment schedule: concerts and live music, DJ sets, and bands to liven up the evenings, craft markets featuring creations by local artisans, and guided tours to discover the medieval village of Ronciglione. There is no shortage of activities for children, with readings, games, and workshops designed for families.
The name of the festival recalls the ancient Roman Ottobrata, a tradition of picnics and festive days that, in old Rome, celebrated the mild climate and conviviality of October, known as the second summer. In Ronciglione, this legacy lives on in a contemporary way, bringing the community and visitors back to the village streets to share good food, music, and popular traditions.
Located in the Municipality of Ronciglione, in the province of Viterbo, the event is an ideal opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating villages in Lazio. Overlooking Lake Vico and surrounded by the forests of the Cimini Mountains, Ronciglione preserves a historic center rich in history, churches, and picturesque views. L'Ottobrata is the perfect time to combine an autumn stroll with the rediscovery of the flavors and traditions of the Tuscia region.
The Pro Loco Ronciglione has not yet published the official dates and program for the 2026 edition of L'Ottobrata — Autumn Festival. Based on previous editions, the festival is expected in the Borgo di Sotto in mid-October, featuring food stalls dedicated to the flavors of the Tuscia autumn, live music, craft markets, and guided tours of the village. Information will be updated as soon as the Pro Loco releases the final calendar.
Ronciglione is located in the province of Viterbo, in the heart of the Cimini Mountains. By car, it can be reached via the Via Cassia (SS2) or the Cimina road; from Rome, the journey takes about an hour. The Ronciglione train station is served by the Rome-Viterbo line.
Admission to the event is free. Food stalls offer tastings and dishes for purchase.
