The Festival del Racconto in Parole e Musica is a new cultural event held in Preggio, a charming ancient village nestled in the hills, a hamlet of the municipality of Umbertide in the province of Perugia. The festival is dedicated to storytelling as a cultural practice: a dialogue between word, sound, and image that centers on the art of narration.
Word, sound, and image
The event intertwines narration, music, and visual languages, providing a platform for local associations involved in the archaeological and cultural promotion of the area. It's an opportunity to revive the village of Preggio through culture, in an intimate setting with great scenic charm.
A village that tells its story
Promoted by the Pro Loco Preggio with the support of the Municipality of Umbertide and the collaboration of the Santa Croce Museum, the festival is part of a larger project for the regeneration of the village. The goal is to attract both Italian visitors and the community of foreign residents in the area, contributing to the revitalization of the economy and the life of the ancient town.
Festival del Racconto — edition 2026
On August 21 and 22, 2026, the village of Preggio hosts the first edition of the Festival del Racconto in Parole e Musica. The event celebrates storytelling as a cultural practice, intertwining narration, music, and visual languages (word, sound, and image). The program features local associations involved in the archaeological and cultural enhancement of the area, within a context of regeneration of the ancient village.

How to get there
Preggio is a hilly hamlet of the municipality of Umbertide, reachable by car from the SS3bis E45 (Umbertide exit) and then following signs for Preggio. The nearest train station is Umbertide, on the Ferrovia Centrale Umbra.
