Cycling through Umbria and Marche
The Gran Fondo del Montefeltro is an amateur cycling event organized by ASD Velo Club Gubbio, starting and finishing in the centre of Gubbio, in the province of Perugia. The route connects two regions, Umbria and Marche, in an itinerary that combines sport and scenery.
Two Routes
Participants can choose between two routes:
- The long route of 138 km with 2,095 metres of elevation gain, featuring challenging climbs such as Nogna, Valico Pantani, Serravalle di Carda, Passo Moria, Valico di Scheggia, and Cima del Bottaccione;
- The medium-distance route of 80 km with 1,440 metres of elevation gain, which goes through Semonte, Mocaiana, Pietralunga, Pianello, Cantiano, and Scheggia.
The route passes through villages and locations such as Gubbio, Pietralunga, Acqualagna, Cagli, Cantiano, and Scheggia e Pascelupo, in an area also known for truffles.
A Growing Race
Despite being recently established, the event has attracted around 700 participants and sports clubs from all over Italy since its first edition. Its inclusion in the Circuito Prestigio and Granfondo Marche confirms its importance in the amateur cycling scene.

The second edition of the Gran Fondo del Montefeltro takes place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, starting and finishing in Gubbio. The two routes are confirmed: the 138 km long route (2,095 m elevation gain) with the climbs of Nogna, Valico Pantani, Serravalle di Carda, Passo Moria, Valico di Scheggia, and Cima del Bottaccione, and the 80 km medium-distance route (1,440 m) for Semonte, Mocaiana, Pietralunga, Pianello, Cantiano, and Scheggia. The event is part of the Circuito Prestigio and Granfondo Marche.

How to get there
Gubbio can be reached by car via the E45 or by bus from Perugia and Fossato di Vico. The start and finish of the granfondo are in the city centre.
