The Valdarno digital culture festival, featuring gaming, talks, and innovation
The THINK Digital Culture Festival is the annual event that brings to Figline e Incisa Valdarno, in the Province of Florence, a lively and accessible reflection on the digital world and the technologies that shape how we live, tell stories, and have fun. Created to bring innovation closer to citizens of all ages, the festival is organized by the Municipality of Figline e Incisa Valdarno and has secured a permanent spot in the Tuscan cultural calendar.
The idea driving THINK is both simple and ambitious: digital culture is not just for experts, but concerns everyone. For this reason, the program weaves together moments of in-depth discussion and entertainment, from video games to conferences, and from virtual reality to tabletop role-playing games, in a journey designed for families, young people, enthusiasts, and the curious.
During the festival, the heart of Figline comes alive with initiatives spread across its most evocative locations. The Teatro Comunale Garibaldi and the Biblioteca Marsilio Ficino are the main hubs of the event, joined in larger editions by Palazzo Pretorio, Piazza Ficino, and other spaces in the center. This is where gaming areas, guest meetings, workshops for children, and immersive experiences are concentrated.
Recurring highlights include the gaming area with 70s and 80s arcade cabinets alongside latest-generation consoles, video game tournaments, escape rooms set in the festival's venues, and live role-playing game sessions. There are also talks with journalists, activists, and digital culture experts, addressing current topics such as online rights, digital memory, and artificial intelligence.
Set in the context of the Valdarno, just a few kilometers from Florence, the THINK Festival has become a reference point for the region: an opportunity to discover how technology can be a tool for personal growth, participation, and social interaction. Admission to all activities is free, confirming the inclusive and educational vocation of the event.
Each edition also awards the THINK Prize, a recognition dedicated to excellence in the field of innovation, and offers useful services to citizens such as assistance desks and courses to strengthen digital skills.
For 2026, the THINK Festival chose the Pop Up Edition formula: a compact yet rich edition, spread over two days (Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12) with continuous hours from 3:00 PM to midnight. The main venues were the Teatro Comunale Garibaldi and the Biblioteca Marsilio Ficino, in the heart of Figline e Incisa Valdarno.
The edition combined the fun of gaming with reflection on digital culture themes, featuring meetings dedicated to online rights and internet memory, a lively video game area, and a pop phenomenon like live K-pop. The assignment of the THINK Prize 2026, dedicated to innovation excellence, was confirmed, as well as the activation of the 'Easy Digital Point' with assistance and courses for citizens.
During the festival, the THINK Prize 2026 was also awarded.
The festival takes place in the historic center of Figline e Incisa Valdarno (FI), with its main headquarters at the Teatro Comunale Garibaldi and the Biblioteca Marsilio Ficino.
Figline e Incisa Valdarno is easily accessible from Florence by car via the A1 motorway (Incisa-Reggello or Valdarno exit) and by train on the Florence-Arezzo line, with the station in Figline Valdarno just a short walk from the center.
Admission to all activities is free. Some experiences, such as the escape room, may require a reservation.
