A month of widespread sports in San Giovanni Valdarno
Giugno Sport is the major sports festival that every year turns San Giovanni Valdarno, in the Province of Arezzo, into a sprawling space dedicated to movement and community. For about a month, from May 30th to June 28th, squares, sports facilities, municipal gyms, the historic center, and iconic city landmarks host a packed calendar of events designed for all ages, from the youngest children to amateurs and professional athletes.
The event is promoted by the Municipality of San Giovanni Valdarno in collaboration with numerous local sports clubs and associations, schools, and local volunteer groups. The goal is twofold: to showcase the rich sports association fabric of the Valdarno area and to offer citizens opportunities to try new activities, meet, and have fun, making sport a shared language of sociality and participation. The Councilor for Sport, Laura Ermini, highlighted how the initiative involves numerous disciplines present in the area.
The 2026 edition opens on May 30th with a volleyball tournament and continues on May 31st with the Trofeo Cittร di San Giovanni Valdarno, a cycling race reserved for the Under 23 category. Among the most anticipated events, on June 4th, the parade of sports clubs will march through the city streets, starting from the municipal gym in Via Genova to the historic center, accompanied by the city's marching band.
The heart of the festival beats in Piazza Masaccio, where from June 15th a multifunctional field is set up to host tournaments and exhibitions in the center of the historic district. The conclusion is marked by the Multi-sport Week at the Palagalli, a true immersion into sports disciplines that offers adults and children the chance to discover and try new sports in a festive atmosphere. Giugno Sport is now a highly anticipated event on the calendar of San Giovanni and the Valdarno region, capable of combining competition, play, and community life in one of the most vibrant towns in Tuscany.
The 2026 edition takes place from May 30th to June 28th in San Giovanni Valdarno (AR). The program alternates races, tournaments, and exhibitions in the historic center and city facilities, with the multifunctional field in Piazza Masaccio set up from June 15th.
San Giovanni Valdarno is located in the Province of Arezzo, along the Arno valley. By train, it is served by the Florence-Arezzo-Rome line, with the station just a few steps from the historic center. By car, it can be reached from the A1 Milan-Naples motorway, Valdarno exit.
The events take place between Piazza Masaccio, the historic center, the Palagalli facilities, the municipal gyms in Via Genova, and the Pieve di San Giovanni Battista.
