A festival weaving poetry, music, and wine

Calici e Poesie is a cycle of cultural aperitifs that transforms the Centro Paolieri di Creatività, located in Piazza Garibaldi in the heart of Impruneta, into an open-air salon where words, music, and wine converge every Friday in June. The festival is promoted by the Associazione Ferdinando Paolieri with the patronage of the Municipality of Impruneta, in the Metropolitan City of Florence, and was created to celebrate both literary culture and the exceptional wines of the Chianti hills.

How the evenings unfold

Each meeting follows a well-established and evocative format: an actor or narrator presents a selection of texts dedicated to a great author of Italian or international literature, while a musician accompanies the readings with live performances, ranging from violin and flute to classical guitar. The evening concludes with a tasting of wines from a local winery, creating a dialogue between art and taste that makes every Friday a complete experience. The events begin at 6:00 PM.

Rooted in the territory

Calici e Poesie expresses the deep bond between Impruneta and its cultural and rural traditions. The festival involves local wineries—from Podere Ema to Azienda Agricola La Querce, and from Podere Bella Venere to Azienda Agricola Ottomani—and collaborates with the Filarmonica Giuseppe Verdi di Impruneta and the Osteria Bellavista, in a project that connects associations, producers, and local landmarks.

Impruneta, between Chianti and terracotta

Nestled in the hills south of Florence, Impruneta is famous for its ancient tradition of terracotta and for the Chianti wines produced in its vineyards. Attending Calici e Poesie is also an opportunity to discover an authentic Tuscan village, away from the crowded tourist circuits, where culture is experienced in an intimate and participatory way.
