The summer steak festival in the hills of Impruneta

With the arrival of summer, the Circolo Ricreativo Culturale (CRC) of Pozzolatico reopens its stalls for the grand summer edition of the Steak and Porcini Mushroom Festival, one of the most anticipated gastronomic events in the Impruneta calendar, in the Province of Florence. Pozzolatico is a small village nestled on the road that climbs from Galluzzo toward Impruneta and the Chianti region, set in the rolling hills that crown the Tuscan capital: a rural and convivial setting, perfect for enjoying the authentic flavors of country cooking just a stone's throw from the city.

The queen of the table: steak with porcini

The heart of the event is the dish that gives it its name: grilled steak, cooked over the coals according to tradition and served in two generous portions, 500g and 1kg, accompanied by excellent porcini mushrooms. The simple and tasty menu is completed by Tuscan appetizers, homemade pasta dishes, and desserts, in a journey that highlights the quality of ingredients and the authenticity of local cuisine. Everything is prepared by the club's volunteers, with the affordable prices typical of recreational clubs.

More than just a festival: music, markets, and family

Unlike the more intimate spring edition, the summer version spans several weekends between June and July and enriches the evenings with a program designed for everyone: live music every night, a market, and attractions and games for children. Dining takes place outdoors in the green park surrounding the club, in a village-fair atmosphere that attracts families and food lovers from Florence and neighboring towns.

Where it takes place

The event is held at the CRC of Pozzolatico, at Via Imprunetana per Pozzolatico 227/229, in the municipality of Impruneta (FI). The venue has a large parking area, convenient for those arriving by car from Florence, Galluzzo, and the Chianti region. Food stalls open every evening from 7:30 PM.

Two editions a year in Tuscany

The CRC of Pozzolatico dedicates two distinct moments throughout the year to steak with porcini mushrooms: a spring edition in March, and this summer edition, spread over several weekends between June and July. Both are part of the club's rich calendar of festivals, which animates the evenings of the village in the hills of Impruneta, Tuscany, during the warmer months, alongside other events like the Chianti Beer Festival.
