About Territorio e Appartenenza

Territorio e Appartenenza is the summer festival in Botrugno, a small village in the Salento region of Lecce province, which transforms the green Parco dei Pini into a vibrant community hub every August. This free event brings together traditional Salento music, sports, children's games, food stalls, and a craft market, featuring the symbolic participation of U.S. Lecce to celebrate local roots and values, while connecting younger generations to sports culture and community pride.

A festival dedicated to local roots

Territorio e Appartenenza is a summer event born in Botrugno, a town of just over two thousand inhabitants in the heart of Salento, in the province of Lecce. Designed to bring the entire community together for a single evening, the festival focuses on a simple yet fundamental value: the bond with one's town, traditions, and land. The very name of the event reflects its spiritโ€”an invitation to embrace a shared identity built on music, sport, and conviviality.

Parco dei Pini, the heart of the evening

The event takes place at Parco dei Pini, a green space in Botrugno that comes alive for the occasion with stalls, games, and music. It follows the classic format of a great Apulian village festival: free admission, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a program designed for all ages, from children to the elderly. The evening kicks off during the cool hours of the Salento summer, as the park fills with families, young people, and curious visitors from neighboring towns.

Folk music, sports, and community

The soundtrack of the festival is rooted in Salento tradition, featuring pizzica, tambourines, and folk melodies that accompany the evening alongside DJ sets. Alongside the music, sports play a special role, particularly football: the event is characterized by the yellow and red colors of U.S. Lecce, present as a symbol of sport and territorial identity, with the goal of introducing younger generations to sports culture and the values of belonging.

  • Live music and DJ sets featuring artists from the Salento folk scene
  • Sports-themed tournaments and games, such as human foosball
  • Inflatable play area and entertainment for children
  • Food stalls serving typical Salento flavors
  • Local craft market

A young but deeply rooted tradition

Reaching its second edition in 2025, the Botrugno festival has quickly established itself as one of the most cherished events of the local summer. Promoted by the Municipality of Botrugno with the support of local sponsors and associations, Territorio e Appartenenza perfectly embodies the spirit of small Salento and Puglia communities, where summer festivals are not just entertainment, but a moment of gathering, memory, and collective pride.

Territorio e Appartenenza โ€” edition 2026

At the moment, the dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the Municipality of Botrugno and the organizers; the event has historically taken place in the first part of August.

The dates and program for the 2026 edition of Territorio e Appartenenza have not yet been officially confirmed.
