The festival dedicated to the Terricciola strawberry, blending flavor, music, and rural tradition in the heart of the Pisan Hills
The Terricciola Strawberry Festival is one of the most anticipated spring events in Tuscany and one of the most deeply rooted festivals in the Pisa area. First organized in 1982, it draws thousands of visitors every year to the small town of Terricciola, in the province of Pisa, all eager to taste the famous strawberries grown on the gentle Pisan Hills in the heart of the Valdera valley.
The event is held in the Giardino Comunale on Via Roma, in the village center, and spans two weekends in May. It is an authentic village festival, built on the volunteer work of local associations and capable of transforming the historic center into a journey of flavors, colors, and music.
The absolute star is, of course, the Terricciola strawberry, a fruit that symbolizes careful, high-quality agriculture. At the food stalls and the Farmer's Restaurant, you can sample traditional Tuscan dishes paired with local wines, as well as numerous strawberry-based specialties: from desserts and risottos to original themed cocktails. Tasting the fresh fruit remains the most beloved moment for visitors of all ages.
The festival is about more than just food. The program offers dance nights with DJ sets, roving performances, dance exhibitions, children's entertainment with clowns, giant bubbles, and street bands, as well as cabaret and family-friendly entertainment. An antiques and crafts market winds through the village streets, completing the festive atmosphere of the event.
The Strawberry Festival is organized by a Promotional Committee that brings together the town's main associations, including the ProLoco of Terricciola, the Premiata Filarmonica Monterosso, and local sports and recreational clubs. More than just a simple food festival, the event represents a moment of identity for the community, showcasing the village and its products while kicking off Terricciola's long summer season of events.
The 42nd edition of the Terricciola Strawberry Festival was held on the weekends of May 9-10 and 16-17, 2026, confirming the now-consolidated two-weekend format. The Giardino Comunale on Via Roma hosted food stalls, the Farmer's Restaurant, the antiques and crafts market, and numerous shows.
The edition opened with the Saturday farmer's dinner and musical entertainment, continuing on Sunday with a farmer's lunch, children's shows (giant bubbles, clowns, street bands), and family entertainment. The second weekend featured dance performances, themed shows, and dance evenings, crowning a community festival with free admission.
Throughout the duration: food stalls with strawberry-based dishes, Terricciola strawberry tastings, themed cocktails, Farmer's Restaurant, and antiques and crafts market.
