The festival bringing world-class music to the churches and villages of the Roero region
In the heart of the Roero region, in Sommariva Perno (Cuneo province, Piedmont), the Terre Armoniche festival brings classical music and singer-songwriter masterpieces to one of the town's most intimate settings: the San Bernardino church, home to the local Confraternity. This cultural initiative focuses on top-tier performers and a dialogue between classical repertoire, opera, and the Italian singer-songwriter tradition.
Terre Armoniche is organized by the Santa Cecilia Cultural Association, under the artistic direction of Hilary Bassi, and is now in its fifth edition (2025/2026 season). It is not tied to a single town: the season travels through various villages in the Roero and Langhe areas—including Magliano Alfieri, Castagnito, Barolo, and Sommariva Perno—transforming churches, castles, and historic halls into intimate stages. In Sommariva Perno, the festival has hosted two of its most anticipated events, which were met with great public enthusiasm.
The hallmark of Terre Armoniche is the variety of its musical languages. In the San Bernardino church, programs have ranged from the most famous operatic arias, in tribute to an icon like Luciano Pavarotti, to the refined repertoire of Genoese singer-songwriters reinterpreted by a string quartet. It is a formula that introduces classical music to those who do not usually attend concert halls, thanks to programs designed to stir emotions within a stunning setting.
More than just a series of concerts, Terre Armoniche is a project for the cultural promotion of the Cuneo area: it enhances the architectural heritage of small towns, supports young performers, and keeps the cultural life of the Roero villages vibrant. Admission by voluntary donation makes it accessible to everyone, with the only requirement being mandatory booking due to the limited capacity of the venues.
As part of the fifth edition of the festival, two concerts were held in the San Bernardino church in Sommariva Perno, both at 5:00 PM with admission by voluntary donation upon reservation. These were among the most popular events of the entire season, which also took place in Magliano Alfieri, Castagnito, and Barolo.
The festival is organized by the Santa Cecilia Cultural Association under the artistic direction of Hilary Bassi, as part of a project to promote the musical and cultural heritage of the Roero and Langhe villages.
«Luciano Pavarotti – The voice of an Italian in the world», a tribute to the great tenor who passed away in 2007.
«Emotions dressed in music and poetry», a journey through the great tradition of Italian singer-songwriters.
