About Teatro Mentore

The 2025-2026 Season of the Teatro Mentore in Santa Sofia, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, brings a programme curated by artistic director Ruggero Sintoni for Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri to the stage in Piazza Garibaldi. From prose to operetta, from singer-songwriter music to family theatre, a series that blends big names from the Italian scene with events for all ages, from November 2025 to May 2026.

The Teatro Mentore of Santa Sofia

Overlooking Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, in the historic centre of Santa Sofia, a municipality in the upper Bidente valley in the province of Forlì-Cesena (Emilia-Romagna), the Teatro Mentore has been the main cultural hub of the Forlì Apennines for decades. Its live performance season, built under the artistic direction of Ruggero Sintoni as part of the Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri project, attracts a loyal audience each year who travel from the Bidente valley to this small village for prose, music, and family theatre.

The 2025-2026 Season

The 2025-2026 programme runs from November to May and alternates major national productions with special events dedicated to music and children. Among the announced performers are Paola Turci with Gino Castaldo in "La rivoluzione delle donne", the Compagnia Corrado Abbati with the operetta "Cin Ci Là", Edoardo Prati with "Cantami d'amore", Simone Cristicchi with "Franciscus", Milena Vukotic in "A spasso con Daisy", and Stefano Massini, who closes the season with "Alfabeto delle emozioni".

Prose, Operetta, and Singer-Songwriter Music

The series combines different genres: great spoken word and narrative theatre, sparkling operetta, civil monologue, and singer-songwriter music, as well as Romagna dialect comedy with Maurizio Casali's "Mo i tira a te". Alongside the subscription season, the calendar offers concerts and shows for children and families on holidays, confirming Mentore's role as a space open to all generations.

An Event for the Bidente Valley

Attending the Teatro Mentore means experiencing an evening of culture in a intimate and welcoming setting, immersed in the landscape of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, at the gates of the Casentinesi Forests National Park. Evening performances usually start at 9 PM, while family events take place in the afternoon. The season is promoted by the Municipality of Santa Sofia with Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri and with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
