About Bertinoro Days

Since 2001, The Bertinoro Days for Civil Economy have been the main Italian think tank on civil economy and the Third Sector. Promoted by AICCON Research Center in the evocative setting of the Rocca and the University Center of Bertinoro (FC), they bring together academics, social entrepreneurs, representatives of institutions, and the cooperative world every autumn to rethink development, work, and the common good together. An event for discussion and research that has become a reference point for those who believe in a human-centered economy.

A national laboratory of economic thought

Since 2001, The Bertinoro Days for Civil Economy have represented the most authoritative Italian event dedicated to the themes of civil economy. Every year, in the hilltop village of Bertinoro, in the province of Forlì-Cesena (Emilia-Romagna), academics, protagonists of the Third Sector, representatives of institutions, and the business world gather for two days of discussion, research, and dialogue. The event is promoted by AICCON Research Center, a research center linked to the University of Bologna.

The setting: the Rocca and the University Center

The sessions take place at the Bertinoro University Center (CEUB), housed within the ancient Rocca that overlooks the town and offers a view stretching to the Adriatic Sea. This intimate setting, far from the dispersion of large conferences, fosters a climate of intense exchange and a quality of listening that has become the distinctive feature of the Days.

The themes at the center of the debate

Each edition addresses a central theme, explored in plenary sessions, previews of national data, and in-depth discussions. Among the issues that animate the debate:

  • The rethinking of work and its forms in contemporary society
  • The role of critical thinking in the age of artificial intelligence
  • The construction of new community socio-economic infrastructures
  • The relationship between freedom, responsibility, and the common good

A method before an event

The Days are not just a conference, but a true working method: an opportunity where academic research, entrepreneurial experience, and civil commitment meet to generate ideas and concrete proposals. Over the years, the event has helped bring civil economy from specialist debate to the center of public policy and Third Sector strategies.

For those involved in the world of cooperation, social enterprise, volunteering, or simply interested in a more sustainable and inclusive development model, Bertinoro is an unmissable stop every autumn.

Bertinoro Days — edition 2026

The XXVI edition of The Bertinoro Days for Civil Economy is confirmed for October 7-10, 2026, at the Bertinoro University Center (CEUB). The detailed program, including the edition's theme and list of speakers, will be announced in the months preceding the event.
