About Taste Festival

The Taste Festival is the major food and wine event in Prato Sesia, in the Novara area, organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Parents' Committee. Spread over two weekends in June, the event takes place in the parish oratory's green space, featuring a different menu each night, live music, dancing, and plenty of conviviality. It is an appointment that blends the flavors of the Piedmontese territory with the patronal celebrations of Saint Bernard, in a village atmosphere where everyone gathers around long communal tables.

The food and wine festival of Prato Sesia

In the heart of the Novara Valsesia, the Taste Festival is one of the most cherished events of the summer in Prato Sesia, a small municipality in the Province of Novara, Piedmont. Organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Parents' Committee and under the patronage of the Saint Bernard festivities, the event transforms the green area behind the parish church into a great meeting point for the village and visitors from the surrounding areas for six evenings.

Six evenings, six menus

The formula is simple and successful: every night features a different signature dish, prepared by volunteers and served at long tables under the marquee. The menu ranges from oven-roasted porchetta with chips to grilled sausage with spatzle, beer-braised pork shank to Valencian paella accompanied by sangria, and even the grand Piedmontese mixed fry and ravioli del plin, the pride of the regional tradition. The offering is always completed by grilled meats, sandwiches, burgers, tongue with bagnetto, desserts, beers, and local wines.

Music, dancing, and patronal celebrations

Alongside the fine food, every evening offers live music, DJ sets, themed nights, and entertainment for all ages, from baby dance for the little ones to musical tributes and Latin nights. The second weekend concludes with the patronal celebrations of Saint Bernard, which include a solemn Holy Mass and the traditional lunch by reservation: a deep bond between the gastronomic festival and the religious and popular identity of the Prato Sesia community.

A community festival

More than just a gastronomic event, the Taste Festival is an occasion for the village to come together: tradition, local flavors, and social life intertwine in a family-friendly atmosphere. Admission is free, and the large parking lot behind the church makes the area easily accessible. In case of bad weather, the event moves indoors to the oratory halls.

Taste Festival โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Taste Festival took place over six evenings, on June 5, 6, 7 and June 12, 13, 14, in the green area of the Prato Sesia oratory. Each night featured a different menu, with music, themed nights, and the Saint Bernard patronal celebrations as a grand finale.
