A food festival on the shores of Lake Turano

The Taste Fair is the summer food and wine event in Colle di Tora, a tiny village perched on a promontory reflecting in the waters of Lake Turano, in the heart of the Cicolano region, in the province of Rieti. For one evening, the alleys of the historic center fill with scents, colors, and voices: a wandering food and wine trail guides visitors from stand to stand, discovering the authentic flavors of local tradition.

The gourmet trail

The heart of the event is the delicious stroll through the village streets, where associations and volunteers offer typical local dishes. Among the specialties that can be tasted along the way:

• Panzanella, fresh and rustic
• Beans with pork rinds
• Maccheroni all'ajo crudo (the traditional "maccaruni all'ajo cruu")
• Grilled meat and fried pizza
• Pizza baked in a wood-fired oven
• Watermelon and ricotta with honey for a sweet finish

There is also a food and wine corner with tastings of local wines, accompanied by artisan stalls and local producers.

Music, tradition, and families

The Taste Fair is not just about good food: the evening is enlivened by live music and performances of Cicolano folklore, with groups like the Menestrelli del Cicolano, while children's games make the event suitable for the whole family. The intimate atmosphere of the village, the view of the lake, and the warmth of the volunteers make this fair one of the most heartfelt occasions to experience Colle di Tora in summer.

A community event

The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Colle di Tora, with the patronage of the Municipality of Colle di Tora. It is the result of the work of local volunteers, who use the fair to promote the gastronomic heritage and community life of this corner of the Rieti Lazio region, among the villages surrounding Lake Turano.
