About TartufiAmo

Every summer, TartufiAmo – Summer Black Truffle Festival turns Piazza Marconi in the heart of Santopadre into a culinary journey dedicated to the 'scorzone', the prized black summer truffle of the Ciociaria region. Over twenty food stalls offer traditional dishes and truffle-based specialties, while folk music fills the evening with traditional songs and dances. Organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Municipality of Santopadre, the festival has quickly become the largest event in Lower Lazio dedicated to this local delicacy.

A village celebrating the black summer truffle

Every summer, in mid-July, the small village of Santopadre in the province of Frosinone celebrates one of its most prized and exclusive local products: the black summer truffle, also known as the 'scorzone'. TartufiAmo – Summer Black Truffle Festival brings Piazza Marconi, the town's beating heart, to life with a grand evening of gastronomy, folk music, and conviviality that attracts visitors from across the Ciociaria region and beyond. Local media have dubbed it the largest event in Lower Lazio dedicated to the black summer truffle.

A young festival that is already a tradition

Launched in 2023 by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Municipality of Santopadre, the event has grown rapidly with each edition. Piazza Marconi, now accustomed to large crowds, fills up every year with families, food enthusiasts, and curious visitors drawn by a simple and effective formula: celebrating a signature local product and turning it into a collective experience of taste, music, and strolling among the stalls.

The culinary trail: over twenty stalls

The heart of the festival is the food and wine trail: over twenty stalls offer traditional dishes and specialties prepared with black summer truffle, alongside numerous other recipes from the local Ciociaria tradition. The 'scorzone', harvested in the local woods, is featured in many different preparations, from pasta dishes to more creative offerings, accompanied by local wines and typical products. There is also a space dedicated to local craftsmanship, featuring handmade creations and regional excellence.

Folk music and dancing in the square

The evening is enlivened by live folk music: traditional songs and dances from Southern Italy, including the 'pizzica' and infectious rhythms, turn the square into a great community celebration where it is impossible to stand still. The public is invited to participate, dance, and get involved until late in the evening, in a genuine village festival atmosphere.

Santopadre and the truffle-rich Ciociaria

Perched at over 700 meters above sea level between the Liri Valley and the mountains overlooking Arpino and Roccasecca, Santopadre is one of the most charming villages in the province of Frosinone, in the Lazio region. Its woods are home to truffle hunters, and the festival is also an opportunity to discover the historic center, the narrow alleys, and the views of the most authentic Ciociaria, far from the major tourist circuits.

Why visit

TartufiAmo is the ideal event for those who love authentic local festivals: you eat well, spend reasonably, dance in the square, and discover an excellent product described by those who have been harvesting and cooking it for generations. A summer evening dedicated to taste, perfect for families and those visiting the Liri Valley and Lower Lazio.
