The polenta taragna festival

Among the mountains of Valle Imagna, in the heart of the province of Bergamo, the Municipality of Roncola - and in particular its hamlet of Roncola San Bernardo - hosts one of the tastiest food festivals in the area: the Taragnafest. The absolute star is polenta taragna, a symbol of the Orobie tradition, prepared with corn and buckwheat flour and enriched with mountain cheese and butter.

The event takes place over two weekends at the Roncola San Bernardo sports field, in via Canale. The kitchen offers polenta taragna in various combinations - with porcini mushrooms, braised meat, game morsels - alongside a rich offering of typical dishes: cheese platters, casoncelli, garganelli with wild boar ragù, grilled meats, homemade desserts, and Roncola's specialty, cream salami.

Music and DJ sets every evening

Taragnafest is not just about food. Every evening is enlivened by DJ sets designed to satisfy all musical tastes, transforming the festival into a party that continues late into the night. A formula that has won over a large and loyal audience, capable of attracting visitors from all over the Bergamo area to Valle Imagna.

A festival made by volunteers

Behind Taragnafest is the work of over 80 volunteers from the Unione Sportiva Roncola, who each year dedicate their time and energy to bring the event to life. The proceeds support the community's activities and facilities: a virtuous example of how a festival can be a celebration, a gastronomic experience, and social commitment all at once, in the heart of the Lombardy mountains.
