The Dancing Night of Pineta, Laives

Tanzestate, also known as the Pineta Dancing Night, is the dance party that lights up the Pineta district of Laives (Steinmannwald in German) every summer. As one of the most lively neighborhoods in the municipality, located in the autonomous province of Bolzano, in Trentino-Alto Adige, it is a key event within the LaivEstate/LeiferSommer program—a packed calendar of summer events that brings over fifty occasions of music, gastronomy, culture, and local traditions to the squares of Laives, Pineta, and San Giacomo between June and September.

A Neighborhood Summer Ritual

Tanzestate is designed as an open-air community festival: live music, plenty of dancing, food and wine stands, and a convivial atmosphere that brings residents and visitors together under the August stars. Pineta, a district with a strong identity and a very active social life, serves as the heart of this dancing night, which fits perfectly into the long South Tyrolean tradition of neighborhood festivals and summer dance nights.

The Pineta Dancing Night is one of the highlights of the August LaivEstate program, a month when the calendar is filled with choirs, concerts, art festivals, and open-air evenings. The summer program, promoted by the Municipality of Laives in collaboration with local associations and the Laives Culture Committee, accompanies the community until the end of summer with events spread across the city's various districts.
