Sustainability Festival - R to the sixth power

A widespread festival for the environment in Montefeltro

The Sustainability Festival, also known by the name "R alla sesta", is one of the most characteristic events in the calendar of Belforte all'Isauro, a small municipality in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region, nestled along the Auro stream on the border with Tuscany and Umbria. Promoted by the volunteer association La Ginestra OdV with the support of the Municipality and the Pro Loco, the festival transforms the Montefeltro village into a large open-air laboratory dedicated to environmental culture and conscious living.

The six Rs: the heart of the event

The name "R alla sesta" refers to the six principles that inspire the entire event: Recycle, Reuse, Repair, Reduce, Clean Up, and Respect. Every initiative, from workshops for children to nature walks, is designed to show how sustainability can be a concrete, creative, and enjoyable experience, far from any preachy tone.

A rich program for all ages

In its past editions, the festival has offered a full schedule of activities that animate the streets, squares, and spaces around the Town Hall:

• Creative workshops on ceramics, weaving with recycled fabrics, and working with recycled materials;
• Excursions and trekking in the surrounding Apennines, on foot, by bicycle, and on horseback, to discover the Massa Trabaria area;
• Sensory walks and foraging for edible wild herbs;
• Yoga, movement, and wellness in the open air;
• Astronomical observation and moments of nature discovery;
• Second-hand and creative reuse markets, such as the renowned "Treasures from the attic";
• Live music, shows, and gastronomy featuring organic and zero-km products.

A village and a community

More than just an event, the Sustainability Festival of Belforte all'Isauro is an expression of a community that has made volunteering, creative recycling, and respect for the territory its true identity. The event, which has grown year by year, also gained momentum during the year of Pesaro Italian Capital of Culture, when the village was the focus of a project that highlighted the small towns in the province.
