The South Tyrolean summer evening in the heart of Velturno, featuring live music, local specialties, and street food.
Summergaudi is the summer highlight that brings the center of Velturno (known in German as Feldthurns) to life. This charming village in the Isarco Valley, located in the province of Bolzano, sits in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. The event takes place in Piazza Silvius Magnago, right in front of the modern "Castaneum" village center, transforming the square into an open-air lounge where you can enjoy a typical South Tyrolean summer night.
From 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the square fills with long tables, the aromas of local cuisine, and live music. Summergaudi is part of a series of summer evenings (known as Street Kitchens) that enliven the villages of the Isarco Valley every week during the high season, blending South Tyrolean hospitality with the pleasure of good food and company. Local bands and folk ensembles—such as the Feldthurner Tanzlmusig—provide the soundtrack for the evening, often accompanied by performances from folk groups and Schuhplattler dancers.
The heart of Summergaudi is its gastronomy: stalls and street kitchens offer the authentic flavors of South Tyrol, ranging from traditional peasant dishes to more casual snacks, all paired with beer, local wines, and regional desserts. It is the perfect opportunity to taste the specialties of the Isarco Valley in a festive, informal setting, fully immersed in the atmosphere of a true mountain village.
More than just a culinary event, Summergaudi is a gathering place for the Velturno community and vacationers alike. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a relaxed, convivial South Tyrolean village festival, where families, locals, and tourists mingle until late in the village square. Velturno, also famous for its episcopal castle and its chestnut (Keschtn) tradition, offers visitors a genuine taste of life and culture in the Isarco Valley.
Summergaudi is held in the center of Velturno, in Piazza Silvius Magnago, on select summer evenings. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The event is organized by the Velturno Tourist Board in collaboration with the Municipality and local partners.
On July 17, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the center of Velturno will host a new edition of Summergaudi in Piazza Silvius Magnago. The evening follows the well-established format of Isarco Valley summer nights: street kitchens with South Tyrolean specialties, beer, and local wines, accompanied by live music and popular entertainment. Free admission.
Velturno (Feldthurns) is located in the Isarco Valley, just a few kilometers from Chiusa and Bressanone. By car: take the A22 Brenner motorway exit at Chiusa/Val Gardena, then follow signs for Velturno. By train: arrive at Chiusa or Bressanone station on the Brenner line, with bus connections available to the village.
The event takes place from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM in Piazza Silvius Magnago, in the village center. Admission is free; you only pay for what you consume at the food stalls.
This is an outdoor event: if the evening is cool, a light jacket is recommended. There are plenty of accommodation options in the hotels and farm stays of Velturno and the Isarco Valley.
