A charity market in the heart of Vahrn

The Benefizflohmarkt – Pfarrcaritas Vahrn is a staple of community life in Vahrn, a small municipality in the Eisacktal valley in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-South Tyrol. Organized by the Caritas group of the Parish of Vahrn (Pfarrcaritas Vahrn), this charity flea market combines the South Tyrolean culture of reuse with a strong commitment to local solidarity.

How it works

The market is held at the Pfarrcaritas shop at Dorfstraße 22/A, in the town center. It takes place every first Saturday of the month, with the exception of the summer months of June, July, and August, when regular activities pause. Doors remain open from approximately 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM: from the afternoon, starting at 2:00 PM, a sign informs visitors which groups or individuals in need will receive the day's proceeds.

What you can find

Among the stalls and shelves, you can find clothing, household items, tableware, books, toys, and many other second-hand goods offered at symbolic prices. It embodies the classic spirit of the South Tyrolean Flohmarkt: giving new life to objects, reducing waste, and supporting those in need. Those wishing to contribute can donate items in good condition, subject to prior agreement with the group's volunteers.

The charitable goal

The heart of the initiative is solidarity. As the volunteers explain, the proceeds are allocated in a quick, non-bureaucratic, and locally effective manner to families and individuals in the area facing economic hardship. Every month, the Vahrn community thus transforms a simple second-hand market into a concrete gesture of closeness and mutual aid.
