Five nights of free music and street food in Largo Sandro Pertini
Summer Fest is the most anticipated summer event in Sant'Antonio Abate, a town of about nineteen thousand inhabitants in the Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania, nestled between the Lattari Mountains and the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese plain. For five consecutive nights, the spacious Largo Sandro Pertini—the market area accessible from Via De Luca—transforms into an open-air stage: lights, thousands of people, and a lineup that alternates between the biggest names in Italian music and the most popular voices of the new generation.
The formula is simple and successful: completely free admission, evening concerts under the stars, and a gastronomic village that accompanies the entire event. An event promoted and funded by the municipal administration, which has made it the primary tool for enlivening the town center in the height of summer.
The 2026 edition took place from Thursday, July 23 to Monday, July 27, with shows starting in the late evening. The lineup announced by the Municipality brought together four nationally renowned concerts plus a themed opening night:
The four main concerts were scheduled to start at 9:30 PM. No tickets, no presale: access to the area and participation in the shows are free for everyone, subject to venue capacity.
Next to the stage, Summer Fest sets up a large food area every year that has become an integral part of the experience. The offerings blend Campanian tradition with contemporary street food trends:
It is a way to showcase local businesses and the agri-food excellence of a territory—the Agro Sarnese-Nocerino—known throughout Italy for the cultivation of the San Marzano tomato and its canning tradition.
Summer Fest was born from a specific choice by the administration led by Mayor Ilaria Abagnale: to enhance the town center with an event capable of attracting audiences from neighboring towns—Angri, Castellammare di Stabia, Pompei, Santa Maria la Carità, Scafati—while promoting local commerce and creating opportunities for social gathering. In 2026, the calendar was postponed by one week compared to the initial schedule, specifically to ensure a richer lineup and shows in line with the expectations of younger citizens.
Summer Fest is not a festival for large arenas: it is the celebration of a community gathering in the square. And that is precisely its value. You arrive early, have dinner while strolling among the stands, and wait for the concert amidst families, groups of friends, and young people who have arrived from all over the province. When the stage lights up, the square sings along. For those visiting Campania in the summer, it is an authentic opportunity to experience a popular event outside the tourist circuits, just a few kilometers from Pompei, the Sorrento Coast, and the Vesuvius National Park.
The Municipality of Sant'Antonio Abate announced the 2026 edition of Summer Fest as the return of the great summer town festival, with the calendar postponed by one week compared to the first hypothesis to ensure a richer lineup. The result was five nights from July 23 to 27 in Largo Sandro Pertini, the market area with access from Via De Luca, all with free admission.
Every night, the concert area was accompanied by a vast street food village with gourmet burgers, fried pizza, panuozzi, meat sushi, paella, frittatine, arrosticini, provolone impiccato, graffe, slushies, ice cream, modern desserts, and craft beers, with the participation of various local operators. The goal declared by the municipal administration, led by Mayor Ilaria Abagnale, was to attract audiences from neighboring towns while enhancing local businesses: over the five nights, the square drew thousands of attendees.
Every evening, from early evening until late at night, the street food village remains open with stands from local operators. Access to the area from Via De Luca.
