A celebration of rustic flavors in the heart of the Monti Lattari
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Porchetta and Sausage Festival is one of the most beloved culinary events in Casola di Napoli, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania, perched on the slopes of the Monti Lattari just a short distance from the Sorrento Peninsula. For years, the event has drawn locals and visitors from neighboring villages, all united by a passion for good food and folk traditions.
At the heart of the festival are two icons of local peasant cuisine. The porchetta, slow-cooked in a wood-fired oven and seasoned with aromatic herbs, and the sausage, prepared according to local recipes and grilled over charcoal. These dishes are served with seasonal sides like friarielli, potatoes, and vegetables, accompanied by homemade bread, red wine, and traditional sweets. The food stalls, set up along the town's streets, typically open in the evening when the air cools down and the scent of the grills fills the village.
The festival is more than just a gastronomic event; it is a true community celebration. The evenings are filled with live music, featuring folk groups, tammurriate, and classic Neapolitan songs that invite everyone to dance. There are also craft stalls, markets selling local products, and areas for children, making it a fun outing for all ages.
Attending the festival is also the perfect opportunity to explore Casola di Napoli, a quiet village surrounded by nature that preserves a vibrant rural identity. Organized with the dedication of the Pro Loco and the local administration, the event highlights regional products and renews the bond between the community and its roots every year. For those visiting Campania in the summer, it is an authentic way to experience the hospitality and flavors of the Neapolitan hinterland, far from the crowded coastal tourist spots.
The Porchetta and Sausage Festival in Casola di Napoli is a summer event that returns to the village center every year. Official dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: we recommend following the Pro Loco di Casola di Napoli social media channels to learn about the program, times, and musical guests as soon as they are announced.
Casola di Napoli is located in the hinterland of the Metropolitan City of Naples, on the slopes of the Monti Lattari. By car, it can be reached via the A3 Naples-Salerno motorway, taking the Castellammare di Stabia exit and continuing toward the Sorrento hinterland. The nearest train station is Castellammare di Stabia, served by the Circumvesuviana line, from which you can continue via local connections.
Admission to the festival is free. Payment for food and drinks is made directly at the stalls. It is recommended to check the updated dates and program on the Pro Loco di Casola di Napoli social media channels before traveling.
