The handmade pasta festival in Savio di Cervia
In the heart of summer, the hamlet of Savio di Cervia, in the Province of Ravenna, gathers around the PalaSavio on Via Tamigi for the Strozzaprete Festival, one of the most cherished local festivals on the Romagna coast. Strozzaprete is a simple, ancient pasta, made only from water and flour and rolled by hand: here it becomes the absolute star of nine days of conviviality, flavors, and fun.
The heart of the event is the kitchen, managed with passion by volunteers and the 'azdore' of the Pro Loco Savio, who prepare the pasta strictly by hand every day. Strozzaprete is offered in numerous variations, from land-based to seafood sauces, alongside other great classics of Romagna cuisine.
For years, the festival has also paid attention to those with celiac disease, with marked dishes and the collaboration of local associations.
Beyond the food, the Strozzaprete Festival is a grand popular celebration that enlivens the PalaSavio square every evening. The program alternates live music and dancing, workshops and dance recitals, shows, and entertainment for families. For the little ones, there are bouncy castles, evening entertainment, and cinema under the stars.
Located at the southern end of the Cervia Municipality, along the Savio River and a short walk from the pine forest and the beaches of the Riviera, the hamlet offers the ideal setting for an evening of authentic flavors. The festival is the time of year when the community of Savio comes together and welcomes tourists and visitors, in the true spirit of Romagna hospitality.
The 2026 edition, the eighteenth, will take place at the PalaSavio on Via Tamigi in Savio di Cervia from July 4th to 12th. As tradition dictates, the food stalls of the Pro Loco Savio will open every evening from 7:00 PM, serving strozzaprete strictly handmade in numerous land and sea variations, alongside Romagna culinary classics.
The evening program of music, dancing, shows, and entertainment for children will be communicated by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event. For updates, it is advisable to follow the official channels of Pro Loco Savio.
The dates for the 2026 edition (July 4-12) are confirmed by the organizers, while the detailed program for the evenings is still being finalized: the Pro Loco Savio website announces "program coming soon".
