About Street Food Marinese

Street Food Marinese is a gastronomic evening that brings the center of Marciana Marina, on the Island of Elba, to life every June. Organized by the Pro Loco, the event turns the village into a massive open-air restaurant: nearly every local eatery sets up stalls featuring their specialties, ranging from fresh seafood to traditional Elban dishes. With comfortable seating areas, live music, and the stunning backdrop of the waterfront, it is a celebration of conviviality that coincides with the traditional Corpus Domini Procession.

Street Food Marinese in Marciana Marina

Street Food Marinese is a culinary event that, every June, transforms the historic center of Marciana Marina into a sprawling open-air restaurant. The festival takes place in the smallest municipality in Tuscany by area, a picturesque seaside village nestled on the northern coast of the Island of Elba, in the Province of Livorno. Promoted by the Pro Loco Marciana Marina, the event was created to celebrate local cuisine and the warm, communal spirit typical of seaside towns.

A village turned into a dining destination

For one evening, nearly every restaurant in town takes to the streets. Local chefs set up food stalls along the alleys and small squares of the center, serving their signature dishes in a street-food format. The stars of the show are seafood flavors and traditional Elban recipes, accompanied by creative offerings from local kitchens. Visitors can enjoy dedicated seating areas where they can relax and dine while taking in the most evocative views of the waterfront and the old harbor.

Music and atmosphere

The entire evening is accompanied by live musical entertainment, providing the perfect soundtrack for a stroll between the stalls. The festivities kick off at aperitif hour and continue through dinner, creating a gastronomic journey that winds through the entire village. The atmosphere is that of a relaxed, family-friendly summer village festival on Elba, where guests can wander freely from one delicacy to the next.

Tradition and community

Street Food Marinese takes place in conjunction with the Corpus Domini Procession, a moment of deep devotion and participation for the entire local community. Food, music, and religious tradition blend seamlessly, reflecting the authentic identity of this corner of the Tuscan islands. The event is free to attend and helps promote the village and its culinary heritage at the height of the summer season.
