Street food arrives on Lake Orta
For a weekend in June, Gozzano—a town in the Province of Novara overlooking the southern tip of Lake Orta, in Piedmont—hosts Street Food Gozzano, a celebration of street food that brings a caravan of food trucks, converted ape cars, and gourmet stands from various Italian regions to the town center. It is an itinerant format that, as part of the Piedmontese "Assaggia l'Italia" circuit, visits the villages of the Cusio and Upper Piedmont areas, and has found one of its most popular stops in Gozzano.
The heart of the event is variety: from Piedmontese Fassona beef burgers to traditional fried delicacies, from Calabrian specialties to sweet and savory French crêpes, from gourmet sandwiches to piadinas, as well as artisanal desserts, fresh fruit, and gelato. Accompanying the dishes are craft beers, a true hallmark of the event, with selections from small breweries offered at the stands.
Beyond the culinary offerings, the Gozzano street food event is a festive occasion: the program usually includes live music, DJ sets, and entertainment to liven up the evenings, with tables and common areas set up for enjoying dinner outdoors. The atmosphere is that of a typical village fair—informal, friendly, and suitable for all ages.
The 2026 edition, scheduled for June 13th and 14th, takes place in conjunction with Oceanman Lake Orta, the Italian stage of the international open-water swimming circuit. This event brings hundreds of athletes from dozens of countries to Gozzano, with race finishes along the lakefront and at the Lido di Gozzano. The combination of water sports and street food makes the weekend particularly lively, attracting athletes, families, and curious visitors to the town center.
The street food event returns to Gozzano on June 13th and 14th, 2026, as indicated by the municipal events calendar. Food trucks and gourmet stands from all over Italy will enliven the town center with regional specialties, craft beers, and music.
This year's highlight is the coincidence with Oceanman Lake Orta (June 12-14, 2026), the prestigious Italian stage of the world open-water swimming circuit, with race finishes in Gozzano and at the Lido on the lake: a weekend combining water sports and great taste.
