The historic strawberry festival in the heart of Peveragno
The Strawberry Festival is one of the most beloved events in the Cuneo area and one of the historic celebrations of the Municipality of Peveragno, in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. Established in 1954, the festival now spans nearly seventy years of history, confirming itself year after year as the event that best captures the agricultural identity of this village at the foot of the Maritime Alps. The absolute star is the strawberry, the territory's symbolic fruit, celebrated through markets, tastings, and initiatives that involve the entire community.
For a few days in June, the historic center of Peveragno transforms into a grand festival space. The streets and squares of the town, starting from Piazza Pietro Toselli, host strawberry producer stalls, food stands, and street food areas. The event alternates between entertainment and social occasions, with a program designed for all ages and for those wishing to discover the authentic flavors of the Granda region.
The Strawberry Festival is much more than just a food and wine event: it is an occasion where Peveragno tells its story, showcasing the hard work of its farmers and the quality of a product that has shaped the town's economic history. Organized by the Pro Loco Peveragno with the support of the Municipality, the event attracts visitors every year from across the Cuneo area and the rest of Piedmont, all eager to savor freshly picked strawberries and experience the genuine atmosphere of an authentic village festival.
Visiting the Strawberry Festival also means discovering a corner of Piedmont rich in nature and traditions, at the foot of the Pesio and Vermenagna valleys. Peveragno is an ideal destination for those who love combining fine dining with walks in the surrounding countryside and woods, in a territory that proudly preserves its agricultural vocation.
Peveragno is located in the province of Cuneo, just a few kilometers from the provincial capital. By car, it can be reached via the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Mondovì exit) or the network of provincial roads connecting Cuneo to the valleys.
