About Strawberry Festival

Nestled in the heart of the Granda area, among the valleys of Cuneo, the Peveragno Strawberry Festival has been celebrating the town's signature fruit since 1954. For a few days in June, the historic center comes alive with producer stalls, tastings, street food, and entertainment, creating a festive atmosphere that blends social gatherings with local traditions. The heart of the event is the market weekend, featuring the crowning of Miss Strawberry and the inaugural 'Cena in Rosso' (Red Dinner). A defining event for the town of Peveragno and the entire agricultural region of Piedmont.

A festival scented with tradition

The Strawberry Festival is one of the most beloved events in the Cuneo area and one of the historic celebrations of the Municipality of Peveragno, in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. Established in 1954, the festival now spans nearly seventy years of history, confirming itself year after year as the event that best captures the agricultural identity of this village at the foot of the Maritime Alps. The absolute star is the strawberry, the territory's symbolic fruit, celebrated through markets, tastings, and initiatives that involve the entire community.

A village telling its story through strawberries

For a few days in June, the historic center of Peveragno transforms into a grand festival space. The streets and squares of the town, starting from Piazza Pietro Toselli, host strawberry producer stalls, food stands, and street food areas. The event alternates between entertainment and social occasions, with a program designed for all ages and for those wishing to discover the authentic flavors of the Granda region.

Must-see events

  • The inaugural Cena in Rosso, which officially opens the festival in a spirit of great conviviality;
  • The market exhibition of strawberry growers and local specialty products, the heart of the weekend;
  • The election of Miss Strawberry, a traditional contest that has accompanied the festival for decades;
  • Evening shows and entertainment, with live performances such as those by I Mammuth;
  • Side initiatives such as Nanni Villani's photography exhibition, the swap market, and the lottery;
  • Opening of the town's main landmarks during the highlight of the Sunday festivities.

A living farming identity

The Strawberry Festival is much more than just a food and wine event: it is an occasion where Peveragno tells its story, showcasing the hard work of its farmers and the quality of a product that has shaped the town's economic history. Organized by the Pro Loco Peveragno with the support of the Municipality, the event attracts visitors every year from across the Cuneo area and the rest of Piedmont, all eager to savor freshly picked strawberries and experience the genuine atmosphere of an authentic village festival.

Among the valleys of Cuneo

Visiting the Strawberry Festival also means discovering a corner of Piedmont rich in nature and traditions, at the foot of the Pesio and Vermenagna valleys. Peveragno is an ideal destination for those who love combining fine dining with walks in the surrounding countryside and woods, in a territory that proudly preserves its agricultural vocation.
