Ceva's competitive road race in the heart of the Cebano region
Straceva is the competitive road race that has recently joined the summer sporting calendar of Ceva, a lively town in the Province of Cuneo nestled in the Cebano area, at the crossroads of the Tanaro and Cevetta valleys. Established in 2025, the event has quickly carved out a niche among the many road races in southern Piedmont, attracting both competitive runners and casual walking enthusiasts.
The route covers 7.2 kilometers and winds through the streets of Ceva, with the start and finish line set at Parco Perlasca, the city's green lung that serves as the event's headquarters. The distance, challenging yet accessible, makes the race suitable for both registered athletes and those looking for a personal challenge in a picturesque setting, with the hills of the Monregalese and the southern Langhe as a backdrop.
Straceva is more than just a competitive race: alongside the timed run, there is a non-competitive fun walk and a children's race, turning the event into a gathering for the entire community and families. The evening format, starting in the late afternoon, allows participants to beat the summer heat and conclude the day in a convivial atmosphere.
Participating in Straceva is also a great way to discover Ceva and the Cebano region: its historic center, its main square, its ancient history as a commercial crossroads, and its deep connection to local products, from the famous porcini mushroom to the food and wine excellence of the surrounding valleys. It is an opportunity to combine sport, social life, and local culture in one of the gateways to the Langhe and the Cuneo Alps.
The Straceva 2026, the second edition of the Ceva road race, will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, with the start and finish at Parco Perlasca. The competitive route maintains the 7.2 km distance through the city streets. As in the first edition, alongside the timed race, a non-competitive walk and a children's run are expected to involve athletes and families from the Cebano area.
The detailed race guide for the Straceva 2026 (start times, registration, and regulations) will be released by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event. Based on the first edition, the day typically includes the 7.2 km competitive race, a non-competitive fun walk, and a race reserved for children, with the meeting point at Parco Perlasca.
Start, finish, and meeting point at Parco Perlasca, Ceva (CN), Piedmont.
Ceva is accessible by car via the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Ceva exit) and the SS28 state road. The Ceva railway station is located on the Turin-Savona and Ceva-Ormea lines.
