A non-stop weekend of sports, music, and social vibes in Demonte
Stra Val Esturo has become one of the most anticipated summer events in Demonte, a municipality in the Stura Valley in the province of Cuneo, in southern Piedmont. Born in 2003 as a modest end-of-summer volleyball tournament, it has evolved over the years into a non-stop event that attracts hundreds of athletes and enthusiasts from across Piedmont and neighboring Liguria, becoming a true benchmark for amateur valley sports.
The heart of Stra Val Esturo is the sporting challenge, experienced with a spirit of fair play and a great desire to be together. The program includes several disciplines:
Tournament registration takes place on the InCampo online platform, and spots, as every year, sell out quickly.
Stra Val Esturo is not just about competition. A 24-hour food court is active throughout the weekend, while those arriving from afar can stay in the camping area set up for tents and campers. The most anticipated moment of the nightlife is the Mega DJ Party on Saturday night, under the valley stars, which transforms the sports festival into a great evening of music and entertainment.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the organizers of V.B.C. Valle Stura have always focused on promoting the territory: visiting teams have the chance to discover local products and the natural beauty of the Stura Valley, one of the most fascinating valleys in the Cuneo area, acting as a gateway to the Maddalena Pass and France. Stra Val Esturo thus combines sport, friendship, and tourism promotion into a single, contagious weekend.
The 2026 edition of Stra Val Esturo, the 22nd, takes place in Demonte on Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, 2026, organized by V.B.C. Valle Stura. The non-stop formula that made the event famous is confirmed: sport, music, and celebration for an entire weekend.
The big news this year is the introduction of sitting volleyball, a Paralympic discipline that further expands the inclusive spirit of the event.
Tournament registration is open on the InCampo platform. The detailed schedule of individual matches is communicated by the organization to participants.
Demonte is located in the Stura Valley, along the state road that climbs from Cuneo towards the Maddalena Pass. By car, it can be reached from Cuneo in about 30 minutes via the SS21. The nearest train station is in Cuneo, connected to Demonte by valley bus lines.
Sports activities are concentrated at the Municipal Sports Hall and the town's sports fields, with the food court and camping area in the immediate vicinity.
Tournament registration is done online via the InCampo platform. Places are limited: it is advisable to register well in advance.
For those staying in tents or campers, a camping area is available; the food court remains open 24 hours a day for the entire duration of the event.
