Stadelefest in Vöran

A festival you walk through, among barns and mountain meadows

The Stadelefest in Vöran is not your typical town square festival: it is a celebration you experience on foot, following hiking trail no. 16 that climbs from the Grüner Baum car park towards the Leadner Alm, a mountain hut nestled at about 1,530 metres above Vöran, a village on the sunny Burgraviato plateau in the province of Bolzano (South Tyrol). Along the route, which takes about forty minutes of leisurely walking, local associations open their Stadeln — traditional rustic barns — transforming them into welcoming refreshment points.

What to eat and listen to

Each barn becomes a little world of its own: here, they serve typical South Tyrolean dishes, ranging from mountain cuisine to homemade desserts, in a gourmet journey that invites you to stop at every stage. Live music accompanies the day, echoing across the Pichler meadows and giving the walk the authentic, convivial atmosphere of South Tyrolean village festivals. It is the kind of event where walking, food, and music blend into a single outdoor experience.

The Stadelefest is also designed for the little ones: the path is easy and stroller-friendly, and along the way, you will find play areas and stations for crafts and hands-on activities dedicated to children. A day in the open air that combines an easy hike with the pleasures of the table, with the Leadner Alm as the final destination of the walk.

Where and when

The festival is traditionally held at the end of August on the Vöran plateau in the heart of the Burgraviato. The event is organised by the Leadner Alm together with local associations, which bring the barns along the route to life every year. It is an appointment that perfectly captures the bond between the community of this small mountain village and its landscape of meadows, farms, and forests.
