Spring Walk

A spring tradition in the Acqui Monferrato

The Spring Walk has become one of the most anticipated events of the season in Alice Bel Colle, a small town in the Province of Alessandria perched on the hills of the Acqui Monferrato, in Piedmont. Organised by the Alice Bel Colle Pro Loco, the event attracts hundreds of hikers, walking enthusiasts, and families every year who want to spend a day in the open air amidst nature, scenic views, and great food.

The route through vineyards and panoramas

The meeting point is Piazza Guacchione, the heart of the village, where a 10-kilometre itinerary begins, winding through the surrounding hills. The trail crosses some of the most evocative spots in the area, between rows of vines and wide views of the hilly landscape, part of which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is a land of great wines: Alice Bel Colle is famous above all for its Brachetto and Moscato, but also for its Dolcetto and Barbera.

Refreshments and rustic lunch

Along the route, participants will find two refreshment points to recharge before continuing. Those who do not feel up to completing the entire loop can take advantage of a shuttle service for an early return. The walk concludes with a rustic lunch prepared by the Pro Loco volunteers: a genuine menu featuring mixed appetisers, vegetable soup, dessert, water, and wine, to be enjoyed together in a friendly and convivial atmosphere.

An event for everyone

The Spring Walk is not a competitive race but a leisurely stroll open to everyone, designed to enjoy spring in the Monferrato at a relaxed pace. It is the perfect opportunity for tourists looking to discover an authentic corner of Piedmont, far from the beaten track, and for residents who gather every year for this community tradition. The event is the first of two seasonal hiking appointments organised by the Pro Loco, which also hosts the Autumn Walk through the local vineyards in the fall.
