The Spigno Motor Day is the premier automotive festival in Spigno Monferrato, a town in the upper Bormida Valley in the province of Alessandria, in the heart of southern Piedmont. For one full Sunday, the village and its surrounding hills become the stage for a gathering that draws vintage car enthusiasts, rally fans, and classic motor lovers from across the region. The meeting point is the central Piazza IV Novembre, where the day kicks off with coffee, pastries, photo opportunities, and the roar of engines.
Two Events in One Day
Spigno Motor Day brings together two distinct yet complementary events under one banner. The first is the Lancia Delta Integrale Rally, a gathering dedicated to one of the most legendary cars in Italian rally history, evoking the glory days of the World Rally Championship. The second is the Spigno Historic Car Circuit, a test of skill and precision winding between the towns of Spigno Monferrato and Montaldo di Spigno, held as the Mauro Diotto Memorial, a figure dear to both the local community and motor enthusiasts.
On the Roads of the Sanremo Rally
One of the most fascinating aspects of the event is the tour that takes crews along the tracks that made the Sanremo Rally history in the 1980s and 1990s, when these hills hosted some of the most challenging special stages of the championship. For vintage car lovers, it is a journey down memory lane, through curves, hairpin bends, and landscapes that define the identity of the Monferrato.
Tradition, Conviviality, and Territory
Beyond the sporting component, Spigno Motor Day is above all a community festival. The event is organized by the Pro Loco di Spigno Monferrato 2014 in collaboration with the municipal administration and local associations, with the help of volunteers and enthusiasts. Aperitifs along the route, a convivial lunch in municipal facilities, and final awards ceremonies complete a day that celebrates not only a passion for engines but also the warm hospitality typical of Piedmontese villages.

L'edizione 2026 dello Spigno Motor Day ha riunito a Spigno Monferrato due grandi appuntamenti per gli appassionati di motori: il 1° Rally Lancia Delta Integrale e il 7° Circuito Auto Storiche di Spigno, abbinato al III Memorial Mauro Diotto. La giornata, organizzata dalla Pro Loco di Spigno Monferrato 2014 con l'amministrazione comunale e le associazioni del territorio, ha richiamato equipaggi e vetture d'epoca tra le colline dell'alta valle Bormida.
Tra gli ospiti del Rally Lancia Delta Integrale figuravano nomi noti del mondo rallistico, con un percorso che ha ripercorso i tracciati dei Rally Sanremo degli anni '80 e '90. Il Circuito Auto Storiche ha proposto una prova di precisione tra Spigno Monferrato e Montaldo di Spigno, chiusa dal pranzo conviviale e dalle premiazioni.

- 8:30 — Ritrovo, iscrizioni e colazione in Piazza IV Novembre
- 9:30 — Avvio del 7° Circuito Auto Storiche di Spigno (III Memorial Mauro Diotto), prova di precisione tra Spigno Monferrato e Montaldo di Spigno
- 10:30 — Partenza del tour sui tracciati storici del Rally Sanremo (anni '80-'90), con aperitivo a Pareto
- 13:00 — Pranzo conviviale presso la struttura comunale
- Pomeriggio — Premiazioni finali
La manifestazione ha riunito il 1° Rally Lancia Delta Integrale e il 7° Circuito Auto Storiche di Spigno.

How to get there
Spigno Monferrato is located in the province of Alessandria, in the upper Bormida Valley. By car, it can be reached via the SP30 Bormida Valley road; the nearest motorway exits are Acqui Terme and Ovada. The meeting point is in Piazza IV Novembre, in the town centre.
