Sparkling Night is the annual evening event that Cantina Merano (Kellerei Meran) dedicates to the world of South Tyrolean sparkling wines. It takes place at the winery's panoramic headquarters in Marlengo/Marling, in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-South Tyrol. The event serves as a more intimate and convivial version of the larger Sparkling Festival, the showcase that first brought a major event entirely dedicated to fine bubbles to South Tyrol.

"Come, let us drink the stars"

The evening's motto—"Come, let us drink the stars," the famous phrase attributed to Dom Pérignon—perfectly captures the spirit of the initiative. Starting at 7:00 PM, guests can enjoy an exclusive selection of traditional method sparkling wines crafted by the Vereinigung Südtiroler Sekterzeuger (Association of South Tyrolean Sparkling Wine Producers) and the wineries of WeinKultur Marling. The municipality of Marlengo is known as the "sparkling wine village": few other towns in the Burgraviato can boast such a high concentration of premium bubble producers.

Cantina Merano and the culture of sparkling wine

Cantina Merano, established in 2010 from the merger of the Burggräfler Winery and the historic Merano Winery, brings together hundreds of winegrowers from the Merano area. Its headquarters in Marlengo, inaugurated in 2013 and designed by architect Werner Tscholl, is now a landmark of South Tyrolean wine tourism, featuring a panoramic Önothek overlooking the vineyards. Among its flagship products is the Brut Riserva 36, a cuvée of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Noir produced using the traditional method, with grapes sourced from vineyards at altitudes between 450 and 700 meters.

Sparkling Night is more than just a tasting: the evening pairs fine bubbles with curated culinary offerings and musical accompaniment in an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. The event is reserved for adults and is part of the WeinKultur Erlebnisse program, a calendar of wine experiences that runs throughout the season in Marlengo. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the excellence of South Tyrolean sparkling wine directly where it is born, amidst terraced vineyards and views of the Merano region.
