SOUND:GARDEN – Jux Lana Music Festival

A day to nurture South Tyrolean music

SOUND:GARDEN is a festival that the Jux Lana youth center dedicates entirely to South Tyrolean musical culture. With the motto "Growth for South Tyrol's music culture", the event was created to provide visibility and space for local bands, DJs, and musical projects to flourish, bringing them together for a single day of concerts, networking, and activities. It takes place in the municipality of Lana, in the province of Bolzano, and is part of the transdisciplinary cultural festival LanaLive.

Live music across multiple stages

The heart of SOUND:GARDEN lies in its 13 live acts, spread across various areas of the Jux: from the Pub Stage to the Proberaum (rehearsal room), to the electronic Rave Corner with its sound system and the Silent Disco. Genres range from rock to punk, hip-hop to electronic and metal, offering a vibrant and diverse portrait of the young South Tyrolean scene. Admission is free, making the day accessible to everyone.

More than just concerts

Beyond live music, SOUND:GARDEN offers a rich array of initiatives designed for the local music community:

• Silent Disco featuring local DJ sets;
• Second-hand market for musical instruments, giving new life to used gear;
• Service & Repair Workshop, a lab dedicated to instrument repair and maintenance, promoting sustainability;
• Meetup for the South Tyrolean music scene, a networking moment for musicians, organizers, and fans;
• Morning Frühschoppen, kicking off the day from the early hours.

The Jux, home of young music in Lana

The Jugendzentrum Jux Lana has been an active youth center since 1990, boasting over 600 m² of space including a bar, media room, workshop, band rehearsal rooms, and an outdoor area. Long a reference point for the youth of the Burggrafenamt region, Jux is the natural home for a festival that aims to be both a showcase and a workshop for South Tyrolean music. SOUND:GARDEN has thus established itself as an essential annual identity-building event for the entire Trentino-Alto Adige region.
