A village festival in the heart of the Puster Valley

The Sommerfest der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Mitterolang is the summer festival that the Volunteer Fire Brigade of the village of Valdaora di Mezzo (Mitterolang) organizes every year in August. The event takes place in the Municipality of Valdaora/Olang, in the province of Bolzano, within the Plan de Corones (Kronplatz) region, and represents one of the most cherished dates on the local summer calendar in South Tyrol.

Two days of music and conviviality

The festival is held in the Peter-Sigmayr-Platz park, which transforms into a lively gathering spot for an entire weekend. Saturday kicks off in the late afternoon with gastronomic specialties, refreshing drinks, and moments of conviviality, while live music, dancing, and entertainment keep the atmosphere buzzing late into the night.

Sunday continues with the traditional Frühschoppen, the morning aperitif accompanied by music, followed in the afternoon by concerts and festivities for all generations. Typical South Tyrolean cuisine, beer, and regional specialties complete the offerings of this popular event.

The role of the Volunteer Fire Brigade

As in many villages in South Tyrol and the Puster Valley, the Volunteer Fire Brigade (Freiwillige Feuerwehr) does not only provide emergency services but is a true pillar of the community's social life.
