The traveling market showcasing South Tyrolean crafts and local delicacies arrives in the heart of Bruneck
SelberGMOCHT—which means "made by oneself" in the South Tyrolean dialect—is a traveling market dedicated to high-quality craftsmanship and local South Tyrolean products. Created to give visibility to small local producers and artisans, the event tours various locations in the province of Bolzano throughout the year, with one of its most anticipated stops in Bruneck (Bruneck), the main town of the Puster Valley.
The market brings the historic city center to life: stalls are set up along the Bastioni (Graben), the elegant tree-lined promenade bordering the old town, and in the spacious Piazza Municipio (Rathausplatz), a square created in 2003 that is now the hub of Bruneck's events. It is an ideal setting: the colorful facades of the bourgeois houses tell the story of a once-thriving merchant city, just a stone's throw from the Via Centrale and the Castle.
The stars of the show are over 90 exhibitors from across South Tyrol. Among the stalls, you will find:
The day is accompanied by musical entertainment and refreshment points offering food and drinks, often managed by local volunteer firefighters and regional caterers. Admission is free, and the event takes place regardless of weather conditions.
More than just a fair, SelberGMOCHT is a showcase of the artisanal expertise of the Bolzano province: a chance to meet the creators directly, discover traditional techniques, and purchase unique pieces while supporting the local economy of the Puster Valley and all of South Tyrol.
The Bruneck stop of the SelberGMOCHT market will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, along the Bastioni (Graben) and in Piazza Municipio (Rathausplatz). As per tradition, over 90 exhibitors from South Tyrol will present high-quality crafts and local products, accompanied by musical entertainment and refreshment points. Admission is free, and the event takes place regardless of weather conditions. In 2026, the traveling format will also visit Fiè (July 18), Dobbiaco (August 9), Silandro (August 29), Lana (September 26), Chiusa (October 10), and Appiano (October 24).
Free admission. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions.
