A summer concert in the heart of Terlan

The Sommerabendkonzert (Summer Evening Concert) is one of the most cherished musical traditions for the community of Terlan, a wine-growing town in South Tyrol located along the famous Wine Road, in the province of Bolzano. Every summer, typically in July, the concert transforms the courtyard of one of the village's historic residences into an open-air stage where classical and chamber music meet an intimate, evening atmosphere.

The setting: Ansitz Liebeneich

The venue for the event is Ansitz Liebeneich, an ancient noble residence located between the parish church of Terlan and the ruins of St. Peter's Castle. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages: the Schenk von Terlan family, mentioned as early as the late 13th century, is considered the founder of the complex, which passed through various noble houses over the centuries. Today, the residence, protected as an architectural landmark, opens its courtyard to welcome the public in a highly evocative setting, surrounded by ancient walls and the vineyards that characterize Terlan.

The musical program

Each edition features a different ensemble, showcasing local South Tyrolean groups, brass quintets, chamber ensembles, and choirs. The repertoire ranges from classical music to lighter, popular compositions, always presented with an elegance suited to an outdoor evening performance. The intimate format allows the audience to appreciate the performers up close, creating a direct dialogue between the music and the venue.

Thanks to free admission, the initiative is open to everyone, from classical music enthusiasts to families vacationing in the Terlan wine region.
