A day of masks, games, and celebration in the heart of the Roero
The Sommariva Perno Pro Loco Carnival is one of the most anticipated winter events in this small town in the Roero region, in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. Organized by the volunteers of the Pro Loco Sommariva Perno, the event transforms the Mondogiovani venue in the Maunera area into a large celebration space open to families, children, and adults.
The festivities kick off in the afternoon, around 2:30 PM, with a program designed for the little ones. The focus is on games, entertainment, and a snack for everyone, creating a cheerful and colorful atmosphere. The highlight is the children's costume parade, complete with a prize for the best costume: a fun opportunity to unleash imagination and wear the most original disguises.
As evening falls, from around 6:30 PM, the Carnival shifts gears and caters to an adult audience. The program includes a masked aperitif, American food options, and a DJ set that provides the soundtrack for the evening, turning the Mondogiovani venue into a dance floor where the party continues in good company.
The Carnival is part of the rich calendar of initiatives with which the Pro Loco of Sommariva Perno enlivens the town throughout the year, alongside historic events like the Strawberry Festival, the Cantè J'Euv, and the Christmas Markets. It is a moment of conviviality that strengthens the sense of community in this Roero village, a land of hills, vineyards, and peach orchards dominated by the famous castle chosen as a residence by Victor Emmanuel II.
A simple and genuine event, capable of bringing different generations together in the name of fun and the local spirit typical of the Roero.
The 2026 edition of the Sommariva Perno Pro Loco Carnival was held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Mondogiovani venue in the Maunera area. The program offered two distinct moments to engage all ages.
