The Soireen auf Schloss Tirol: Emotion and Sound is a refined summer concert series hosted in the evocative Knights' Hall (Rittersaal) of Castel Tirolo, the iconic fortress that overlooks the Merano basin. The event takes place in the municipality of Tirolo/Tirol, in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige, and is organized by the Tirolo Tourist Office (Tourismusverein Dorf Tirol).

Five Thursdays across centuries and traditions

The program features five weekly Thursday evening concerts, starting at 9:00 PM. Top-tier international ensembles bring music from different countries, traditions, and eras to the castle: from Nordic folk to jazz, from classical music to Argentine tango, and even traditional alpine sounds. The historic setting of the Knights' Hall, with its ancient walls and intimate acoustics, makes every concert an immersive experience that perfectly marries emotion and sound, as the festival's title suggests.

An experience beyond the concert

The Soireen experience extends beyond the music: the ascent to the castle and, most notably, the evening return to the village center traditionally take place by torchlight, following a romantic path under the starry South Tyrolean sky. A free shuttle service is available from the Tirolo tourist office to reach the castle.
