The Internationales Brassfestival Meran/o is the most important festival dedicated to brass music in South Tyrol. Every autumn, the event transforms the Kursaal in Merano (Municipality of Merano, Province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige) into a premier stage for world-class brass bands, ensembles, and soloists. For over two decades, organizers have brought some of the most prestigious names in the global brass scene to this spa town.

The event is hosted in the historic Kursaal in Merano, located on Weingartenweg, one of the most elegant Art Nouveau buildings in the entire region. The acoustics and refined atmosphere of the hall make every concert a deeply evocative cultural experience, perfectly in tune with the Central European musical tradition that defines Merano and the entire Burgraviato area.

World-renowned ensembles

Over the years, the festival has hosted some of the most celebrated acts on the international scene, including the famous German ensemble German Brass. Founded in 1974 and composed of ten soloists and university professors, they are considered a cornerstone of brass chamber music. Alongside major German names, the program alternates with prestigious British brass bands, such as the award-winning Cory Band from Wales, and special projects featuring musicians from the most important European orchestras.
