The international fair of good, clean, and fair wine in BolognaFiere
Slow Wine Fair is one of the most important Italian events dedicated to quality wine: a fair held in Bologna, at the BolognaFiere exhibition center, bringing over a thousand producers from all over the Italian peninsula and dozens of countries to Emilia-Romagna. Organized by BolognaFiere with the artistic direction of Slow Food, the fair focuses on the concept of wine that is not only good and environmentally sustainable but also *fair*: produced without exploiting workers and territories, capable of generating shared value, decent work, and inclusion.
In pavilions 15 and 20, the Wine Fair unfolds, featuring over 1,000 wineries from all Italian regions and about thirty countries: a large portion of the exhibitors are certified organic, biodynamic, or in conversion. More than six thousand labels are available for tasting at the tasting counters, where visitors can interact directly with the winemakers.
In addition to the tasting counters, the program includes conferences, masterclasses, and guided tastings ranging from mountain wines to biodynamics, from historic Italian denominations to cooperative wineries, as well as ethical and social issues in the supply chain. Among the key areas are the Italian Amaro Fair, dedicated to artisanal Italian amaros and liqueurs, the spaces of the Slow Food Coffee Coalition, and the Wine Bank with vintage wines from the Banca del Vino di Pollenzo.
On the same days and with a single ticket, SANA Food is held in the adjacent pavilion, the professional exhibition dedicated to healthy and sustainable out-of-home consumption, with offerings ranging from organic to biodynamic, from vegan to DOP and IGP excellences. Together, the two events offer a complete overview of quality food and wine for the Horeca channel and enthusiasts.
Slow Wine Fair is open to both industry professionals (Horeca operators, restaurateurs, importers, distributors) and wine lovers, who are particularly welcome on Sunday. A unique opportunity, in the heart of Bologna and Emilia-Romagna, to discover a new way of understanding wine.
The fifth edition of Slow Wine Fair, held at BolognaFiere from February 22 to 24, 2026, had the theme of "Fair Wine" ("The world in the vineyard, fairness in the glass"): not only organoleptic quality and environmental sustainability, but also social justice in the supply chain, decent work, and inclusion. The event brought together over a thousand wineries and thousands of labels, confirming its position as a benchmark for good, clean, and fair wine.
Opening day also accessible to wine lovers: tasting counters with winemakers, conferences, and masterclasses dedicated to the wines being tasted.
In pavilion 18, SANA Food was held, an exhibition dedicated to healthy and sustainable out-of-home consumption, accessible with the same ticket.
BolognaFiere is located in Viale della Fiera, Bologna, easily accessible by car (ring road, exit 7-8) and public transport from the central station (dedicated buses and shuttles during fairs). Bologna Marconi Airport is a few kilometers away.
Paid admission with a single ticket also valid for SANA Food. Professional rates: around 20 euros (1 day), 30 euros (2 days), 40 euros (3 days); wine lover ticket for Sunday around 39 euros. Online pre-purchase recommended on the official website.
Numerous accommodation facilities are available in the city and near the exhibition center; booking in advance during the fair period is recommended.
