SAIE Bologna, the historic construction fair

SAIE — the historic acronym for Salone dell'Industrializzazione Edilizia (Exhibition of Building Industrialization) — is the leading Construction Fair in Italy. The event returns to BolognaFiere, in the Municipality of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna), from October 7 to 10, 2026. Founded on October 9, 1965, in the Bologna exhibition district, the show has accompanied the evolution of Italian construction and architecture for over half a century and today targets designers, construction companies, installers, manufacturers of materials and technologies, and architecture and engineering firms.

The four exhibition sectors

The 2026 edition is structured into four major areas covering the entire construction supply chain:

• Design: software, hardware, and digital solutions for design, BIM, and the management and maintenance of buildings, cities, and infrastructure.
• Construction: materials, building systems, sustainability, energy transition, safety, and living comfort.
• Systems: plant engineering technologies and energy efficiency for buildings.
• Services & Media: certification bodies, engineering companies, professional firms, consulting, and real estate services.

Thematic paths

Four paths guide the visit and the conference program: SAIE Sustainability, dedicated to innovative materials and energy efficiency; SAIE Infrastructure, focused on major strategic projects; SAIE People at the Center, oriented towards training and skills development; and SAIE Innovation, with in-depth analysis of digitalization, site technologies, and new operational tools. The offering is completed by thematic pavilions, demonstration areas, conferences, and masterclasses.

A showcase for the construction sector

SAIE is organized by Senaf, a company of the BolognaFiere Group, and alternates annually between the Bologna and Bari venues, attracting tens of thousands of professional operators in recent editions. The Bologna stop represents the broadest showcase for new products and for dialogue between institutions, trade associations, and construction companies, in a city — Bologna — that has always been a trade crossroads for Emilia-Romagna and central-northern Italy.
