The Schlanderser Sommerabende mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, or summer evenings with shopping opportunities, are a recurring highlight of the summer in Schlanders/Silandro, the main town of the Vinschgau Valley in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol. On select evenings in July and August, the historic center and the pedestrian area of the Hauptstraße transform into an open-air lounge: shops remain open until 10:00 PM, and local merchants, together with restaurateurs and the Silandro-Lasa Tourist Board (Tourismusverein Schlanders-Laas), invite residents and guests to enjoy the warm summer nights amidst illuminated shop windows, outdoor terraces, and great music.

An Atmosphere to Experience While Strolling

During these summer evenings, the pedestrian zone fills with people strolling leisurely among the local shops, discovering new arrivals, stopping at café terraces for an aperitif or cocktail, and savoring local culinary specialties. Each evening is accompanied by a rich supporting program and live music, set in the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere typical of the mountain villages in the Vinschgau Valley.

The 2026 Edition Evenings

For the 2026 edition, the summer evenings in Schlanders feature themed events, all running from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM:

• Friday, July 24, 2026 — Fashion on the Street: Shops present their collections directly on the street, with children's entertainment provided by ASV Schlanders, performances by the Line Dance Vinschgau group, and a spectacular aerial and fire acrobatics show.
• Friday, August 7, 2026 — Fire Brigade Festival: An evening dedicated to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the youth fire brigade and the 25th anniversary of the volunteer corps' veterans group, featuring games, food, and the presence of the White Cross (Weißes Kreuz) for health and first-aid information.
• Friday, August 14, 2026 — Gourmet Market: A small Genussmarkt featuring regional specialties and typical Vinschgau Valley products to taste and purchase.

A Local Initiative

The Schlanderser Sommerabende are a free-entry initiative designed to promote local commerce and enhance the livability of the Schlanders center during the summer season. The event is organized by local merchants in collaboration with the Silandro-Lasa Tourist Board and offers a delightful way to discover the capital of the Vinschgau Valley, blending shopping, tradition, and South Tyrolean hospitality.
