Two days of music, street food, and motors in the heart of Scarperia for the Mugello MotoGP weekend
The Scarperia Street Festival is the major town celebration that accompanies the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix weekend at the Mugello International Circuit. Born in 2026 from the experience of previous musical events linked to the MotoGP, the festival transforms the historic center of Scarperia and San Piero, in the heart of the Mugello region near Florence (Tuscany), into a widespread stage for music, entertainment, gastronomy, and a passion for motors.
The 2026 edition took place on Friday, May 29th, and Saturday, May 30th, coinciding with the busiest week in Mugello, when the village welcomes tens of thousands of fans arriving for the races. The festival spans multiple areas of the historic center: Piazza dei Vicari, dominated by the Palazzo dei Vicari, hosts the main stage; Via Roma becomes the hub for DJ sets and motor enthusiasts; Piazza Clasio hosts the street food area; while the Public Gardens at the entrance to the town feature the artisan market.
The first evening, Friday, opens at 6:00 PM in Piazza dei Vicari with an artistic performance, followed by live music: trap vocals, rock selected by DJ Roby The Dark Lord, and a concert by the band Charms. On Saturday, the shows resume at 6:00 PM with performances by the Tinta Cubana and Loft Studio Danza dance schools, followed at 9:00 PM by the Sprint Fashion Show, a red-carpet parade in Piazza dei Vicari. The evening then heats up with DJ sets by Francesco Stelloni and Andrea Baglioni, leading to the grand finale at 11:00 PM with former MotoGP rider Marco Melandri at the console.
In keeping with the spirit of the MotoGP, the festival dedicates ample space to the world of two-wheelers: along Via Roma, you will find clubs and enthusiasts, the official fan club of local rider Guido Pini, and an Aprilia driving simulator. There is no shortage of great food, with the street food area in Piazza Clasio, or shopping, thanks to the artisan market and local shops open until late.
The Scarperia Street Festival is organized by the Corte dei Vicari Natural Shopping Center together with Confesercenti Florence and the Municipality of Scarperia and San Piero, with the support of the Tuscany Region. It is an initiative designed to showcase the Medici village and its merchants, offering MotoGP visitors an extra reason to discover one of the most beautiful villages in Mugello, also famous for its ancient knife-making tradition.
The first edition of the Scarperia Street Festival enlivened the historic center for two evenings, from May 29 to 30, 2026. On Friday, the event opened at 6:00 PM in Piazza dei Vicari with an artistic performance, trap vocals, rock by DJ Roby The Dark Lord, and a concert by the Charms. On Saturday, space was given to the Tinta Cubana and Loft Studio Danza dance schools, the 9:00 PM Sprint Fashion Show, and DJ sets by Francesco Stelloni and Andrea Baglioni, with the grand finale at 11:00 PM entrusted to former rider Marco Melandri. Along Via Roma, motorcycle clubs, the Guido Pini fan club, and the Aprilia simulator were featured; street food in Piazza Clasio and artisan market in the Public Gardens.
Scarperia and San Piero can be reached by car via the A1 motorway (Barberino di Mugello exit) or along the SP503 Passo del Giogo road. During the MotoGP weekend, it is advisable to leave well in advance due to heavy traffic heading toward the Mugello Circuit. By train, the reference station is Borgo San Lorenzo (Faentina line), connected to Florence, with onward travel by bus or taxi.
Admission to the festival is free. Evenings begin at 6:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday and continue until late at night. The shows take place outdoors in Piazza dei Vicari, Via Roma, Piazza Clasio, and the Public Gardens.
Given the overlap with the Grand Prix, it is advisable to book any accommodation in the area well in advance. Comfortable clothing and suitable footwear are recommended for walking around the historic center.
