About Sarzana Lirica

For twenty-five years, Sarzana Lirica has brought great opera to the historic centre, with productions entirely created locally and singers selected through auditions. The 2026 edition stages Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto, with artistic direction by Roberto Sèrvile and orchestral direction by Bruno Nicoli. The performances, in Sarzana and La Spezia, are all free admission: a rare case of opera accessible to everyone, in the Province of La Spezia.

The opera that belongs to everyone

The Sarzana Lirica Festival is one of the most original realities in the Ligurian opera scene. Born from the commitment of the Comitato Gli Amici del Loggiato, it offers a complete opera production every year in Sarzana (Province of La Spezia), with the unique feature of offering free admission performances, with tickets distributed directly in front of the Town Hall.

The 2026 Rigoletto

The 25th edition is dedicated to one of the absolute masterpieces by Giuseppe Verdi, Rigoletto. The production, built entirely locally, features the artistic direction of baritone Roberto Sèrvile and the orchestral direction of maestro Bruno Nicoli. Singers are selected through specific auditions, in line with the festival's educational mission.

A festival that trains and promotes

Beyond staging, Sarzana Lirica is a project to promote operatic singing and bring audiences closer to opera, with a path that links the city of Sarzana to the provincial capital, La Spezia. A model that combines musical rigor, participation, and accessibility, rare in the Italian landscape.
