A summer of music, theatre, and dance under the stars of Massa
Palcoscenici Stellati is the summer live performance festival promoted by the Municipality of Massa (Province of Massa-Carrara, Tuscany) in collaboration with the Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo onlus. For over two months, from late June through September, the program brings music, theatre, dance, and family-friendly shows to squares, historic villas, hillside villages, and the coast of Marina di Massa, all with a free, territory-wide format.
The festival is organized into thematic sections that blend major national productions, local companies, and emerging artists:
The opening is scheduled for June 28th at Villa Rinchiostra with the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina and the "Back to the 80's" concert. Announced events include: Carolina Benvenga with "Un'estate favolosa" on July 5th in Piazza Aranci, the "Viscardi full band summer tour" on July 10th in Piazza Betti, Stefano Fresi on July 11th, Cesare Bocci on July 17th in Piazza Aranci with "Lucio Battisti. Emozioni", and Paolo Ruffini with "Il baby sitter" on July 31st. Most evening performances start at 9:30 PM.
The festival takes place in numerous spaces across the territory: Villa Rinchiostra and Piazza Aranci in the center of Massa, Villa Cuturi and Piazza Betti in Marina di Massa, as well as the villages of the Apuan hinterland. The widespread distribution of events allows visitors to discover different corners of the city and the coast, from the hills to the sea.
The guiding principle of Palcoscenici Stellati is the idea of culture as something open, shared, and free: the shows are designed for audiences of all ages and bring high-quality artistic offerings into the everyday spaces of the community, under the summer sky of northern Tuscany, at the foot of the Apuan Alps.
The 2026 edition kicks off on June 28th at Villa Rinchiostra with the "Back to the 80's" concert by the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina and runs until September with over two months of free events.
The program alternates between major national productions and local artists, distributed between Massa and Marina di Massa: from music to theatre, and dance to children's shows in the Costellazione di Orione section.
Children's section "Costellazione di Orione" from July 3rd: readings, workshops, music, and treasure hunts (Villa Cuturi).
From late June to September 2026. The inauguration is on June 28th at Villa Rinchiostra; most evening performances start at 9:30 PM.
