Sarnar Virwitzmitte, the beating heart of the Sarentino summer

The Sarnar Virwitzmitte is the most anticipated summer event in Sarentino/Sarnthein, the main town of the Sarntal Valley—a secluded valley deeply rooted in its traditions in the heart of South Tyrol (Autonomous Province of Bolzano). Every Wednesday in July and August, the picturesque historic center of the village, which locals affectionately call "das Dorf", transforms into an open-air lounge where leisurely shopping becomes a special experience.

A long Wednesday of shopping and conviviality

The dialect name "Virwitzmitte" evokes the curiosity ("Virwitz") of those who love browsing shop windows: during these evenings, shops stay open late, giving visitors plenty of time to discover local craftsmanship, traditional products, and village boutiques. It is not just about shopping: the event is above all an opportunity for residents and tourists to meet in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

Gastronomy, music, and entertainment

The proven formula of the Virwitzmitte combines shopping with the pleasure of good food and entertainment. Along the streets of the center:
