The Oltradige cycling festival

The Sanvit Bike Festival marks the official opening of the cycling season in Appiano sulla Strada del Vino (Eppan an der Weinstraße), located in the heart of the Oltradige area, in the province of Bolzano. Organized by the Dynamic Bike Team Appiano ASD in partnership with the specialist shop Sanvit Bike & Fitness, the event takes place every spring in the village of San Michele (St. Michael) and attracts cycling fans from across South Tyrol.

Test bikes from leading brands

The highlight of the festival is the test ride days: official partners CUBE, SCOTT, TREK, and PINARELLO provide a vast fleet of bicycles to be tested for free on-site. You can try out all categories:

• E-bikes with pedal assistance for city, trekking, and mountain use;
• Mountain bikes, ranging from cross-country models to enduros;
• Road bikes and gravel bikes, perfect for the roads and vineyards of the Oltradige.

Visitors can hop on the latest seasonal models and compare them directly along the trails surrounding Appiano, winding through orchards and vineyards beneath Mount Macaion.

New releases, deals, and refreshments

During the two-day event, the festival showcases the latest collections of the year and offers special deals on bicycles and technical apparel. A refreshment area serving food and drinks makes the event a perfect social hub for the local cycling community. The event is free and open to everyone, catering equally to expert cyclists and families trying out cycling for the first time.

A staple event in South Tyrol

Launched in 2018, the Sanvit Bike Festival has become a fixed date in the South Tyrolean spring calendar for cycling lovers. The territory of the Municipality of Appiano sulla Strada del Vino, with its dense network of cycling routes between Bolzano, Lake Caldaro, and the Mount Macaion plateau, offers the ideal backdrop for testing bikes on both roads and trails. Hosted in the province of Bolzano in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, the event combines athletic passion with the discovery of one of Italy's most appreciated cycling destinations.
